In the Denver Post the article “Put forth our best writing selves” by Douglas Hesse, the author feels that facebook, twitter, and texting were ruining the English language till he decided it is good in helping us express ourselves.
Here I think he meant that Facebook, Twitter and texting are taking away grammar and spelling skills, but at the same time they're helping us to write more often. The main point he was trying to get across though, was that as much as we do express ourselves, we need to write about content involving deeper thought. We have to make those around us think.
